Before my life as a realtor I taught school in Ascension Parish for thirty years at St. Amnat Primary. For 17 years I spent many of my waking hoursmaking it happen for my first graders. Be it creative writing,phonics,word walls,painting murals on the class walls w/Bert and Ernie, science projects, or math races, I just loved observing students grow from little knowledge of sounding out words to reading and enjoying those first grade readers and vie for the opportunity to be the first to check out a favorite library book read to them previously, and now read it to the class. Having rookie teachers to train was a honor and priviledge and just another hat I enjoyed wearing for a while. I "graduated" to fourth grade and taught Math, Social Studies, and Science. It was great fun to have the many projects and see the independence of these students. Many rewards awaited me as I saw students achieve and go beyond expectations, especially on the statewide LEAP tests.

Ed and I have been married since June 27,1998 and have a wonderful blended family of 2 daughters and a son. Ashley,my daughter, is married to Jason Duncan. They have given us a terrific grandson, Cole Aubrey who will be one year old March 18,2005.Ashley is a Math major at LSU and her husband is w/Auger Services. His company does the drilling of pilings for commercial/residential foundations.They live in Ascension Parish. Karen Fuentes,our other wonderful daughter, has completed her degree at SLU,is with Shaw Industries and has given us a beatiful grandaughter,Baylee. She's in preschool in Livingston Parish. Our son, Kenneth Kyle Paxton,is a certified Instrument tech,working at Shintec, and is married to our lovely Natalie who's a part of the Oschner Clinic group as as assistant in the OBGYN dept.They have given us our oldest grandson, Ashton Cole, a fun-loving precious 4th grader in Livingston Parish schools.
